Parliament appointee to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), the MP for Thulhaadhoo constituency, Hisaan Hussain has said that the efforts to reform the Judicial System will not and cannot be stopped.

She made the statement on Twitter after the parliament committee decide to support and empower the JSC decision to disobey the Supreme Court order to overturn the suspension of the Supreme Court Judge, Abdulla Didi.

MP Hisaan said that the responsibility tasked to the government by the people is very clear from the latest Presidential and Parliament elections.

A disciplinary case was filed with the JSC against Judge Didi by the Speaker of the Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed. The JDC then decided to suspended the Supreme Court Judge.

Supreme Court has issued a court order banning any action against Judge Didi by any institute. However, the JSC has issued a statement declaring that they would disregard the court order. The JSC said that the Supreme Court order infringes with the authority of the JSC and the suspension will take effect.

While the JSC has issued such a statement, Judge Didi has returned to work and filed cases with the Maldives Police Service against five members of the JSC.

Two cases with Judge Didi presiding has been scheduled at the Supreme Court today.
