President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that he does not take his responsibilities charged on him by the people lightly and will do everything possible to fulfill them.

The President made the statement at the opening ceremony of the Maldives Partnership Forum 2019 at Kurumba Maldives this morning.

In his address, President Solih said that the natural beauty of the country is connected to the lives of the people since ancient times. He said that the development and the national heritage is connected to that natural beauty. The President said that environmental factors must be considered when it comes to how and how much resources will be used.

He also reiterated the commitment given by his administration in engaging with the international community in issues of mutual importance and to fulfill the pledges of Jazeera Raajje.

The ambitious mandate of this administration is intended to redirect our development efforts towards a more inclusive and sustainable path. Each of the sessions, which were selected to reflect the key priority areas of this Government will shine a light on how such outcomes can be achieved.
