South Galolhu MP Meekail Naseem has submitted a motion to remove Fathimath Zaina and Ibrahim Sofwan from the Broadcasting Commission.
MP Meekail submitted the motion during the meeting of Parliament Committee on Independent Institutions, after stating that both of them had failed in their jobs.
While Zaina was present for the meeting, Sofwan was noticeably absent in comparison to his colleagues such as President of Broadcom, Mohamed Shaheeb and other members.
Head of Committee, Rozeyna Adam said that the committee will decide on the motion on a later meeting before concluding today's meeting.
During the meeting, questions were raised whether any of the members of the commission had taken part in any political activities or not. However, all had denied such actions.
Zaina was elected as Vice President of the commission last Monday, after Ibrahim Sofwan resigned from the position.
