Victory Sports Club defeated TC Sports Club 6-0 in the opening match of the FAM Women’s Football League, held yesterday at Henveiru Stadium.

This year marks the return of an official women’s football tournament in the Maldives, the first since 2014. The league features six teams: Victory Sports Club, TC Sports Club, Odi Sports Club, Maziya Sports and Recreation, New Radiant Sports Club, and Biss Buru Sports Club.

Victory took a 3-0 lead in the first half, with Rustullaeva Leyla Rameshovna scoring twice and Fathimath Saina adding another goal. In the second half, Rameshovna scored two more goals, while Safina Rushaniya added the sixth, giving Victory a comprehensive 6-0 victory.

New Radiant Sports Club will face Odi Sports Club in the evening match.
