Football Association of Maldives has approved a budget of MVR 48.3 million for 2026 during its annual general meeting.
The meeting was the first held under FAM’s new leadership. Members also approved last year’s annual and audit reports, while the 2020 budget was passed with unanimous support from all clubs.
Most of the revenue is expected to come from FIFA, with MVR 32.7 million projected. Sponsorships are expected to contribute MVR 8.7 million, while MVR 1.8 million will come from the government through the ministry. Operating activities are estimated to generate MVR 4.8 million, with additional funding expected from Japan Football Association.
The largest share of spending, MVR 27.2 million, has been allocated for competitions. This includes MVR 6.7 million for the Dhivehi Premier League. Funding has also been set aside for futsal competitions, including MVR 1.8 million for the Futsal Atoll Championship and MVR 324,500 for the Futsal League.
In addition, MVR 6.3 million will be spent on national teams, MVR 10 million on administration and staff salaries, and MVR 1.5 million on women’s football.
