Nine people have been arrested at sea in connection with the robbery of the Faafu Atoll Magoodhoo Island Council where thieves tied up the security guard.

Today, the Media Official of the Maldives Police Service said that nine people on a dinghy and a boat near Magoodhoo. The group consists of two men of the 23 and two men of 24 with men of the ages 26, 32, 33, 36 and 38.

All nine have been remanded to five days by the Faafu Nilandhoo Magistrate Court.

Magoodhoo Island Council was robbed round 3:30 a.m. on the night of 30 June. The thieves went in after breaking the door and the safe was broken into to robbed the money inside according to the police.
