The Maldives secured a victory over Bangladesh in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Championship being held in Kathmandu, Nepal.

After losing all their previous matches in the tournament, the Maldivian team bounced back with a 3-1 win against Bangladesh in the ranking round.

Bangladesh won the opening set 27-25, but the Maldives responded strongly by winning the next three sets 25-11, 25-17 and 25-12.

Captain Hawwa Rasheeda was named player of the match for her performance.

The tournament, which runs from the 22nd to the 29th of this month, features eight teams. The semi-finals are scheduled to be played today.
