All services previously provided through Dhamanaveshi are now being offered from two alternative locations following the temporary closure of its building for redevelopment, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has announced.
The facility, currently operating from the former Thalassaemia Centre building in Malé, has been closed as work begins on the city’s second Urban Primary Health Care Centre. Dhamanaveshi services have been relocated to the Urban Primary Health Care Centre in Maafannu and the GP Clinic in Hulhumalé Phase II.
IGMH advised members of the public seeking further information to contact 3335335.
Dhamanaveshi provides a range of preventive and community healthcare services, including childhood vaccinations, growth monitoring, health screenings, consultations for common illnesses, smoking cessation support and counselling services.
Once the new Urban Primary Health Care Centre in Henveiru is completed, Dhamanaveshi services currently operating in Malé are expected to be transferred there. The new facility is also expected to improve access to specialist referrals and support national public health programmes.
