President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have departed on an official state visit to Mautitius.

The President’s Office said that the visit is being made upon the invitation from the Mauritian Government.

The President and the First Lady will be taking part in the opening ceremony of the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) during the official visit from 18 to 22 July.

President will also attend several of the gaming events due to be held in the coming days to encourage and show support to the Maldivian athletes who will be competing in the IOIG.
