President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the First Lady, Fazna Ahmed, has departed on a State Visit to the Republic of Seychelles.

The President is travelling to Seychelles on the invitation of the President of Seychelles, Danny Faure. The two are scheduled to meet during the visit and discuss ways to take bilateral relations forward.

The invitation was extended to President Solih by President Faure’s Special Envoy, Mohamed Afif at the President’s Office during a formal visit on 29 July 2019.

President and the First Lady departed from Velana International Airport with a delegation of senior government official.

The President’s Office said on Monday that the visit will prove to boon to friendly relations between the two island-nations through the signing of several MoUs and a series of bilateral exchanges at the highest level.
