Four High Court judges apply to Supreme Court bench

Four High Court judges have applied for the two additional spots ion the Supreme Court bench, following the amendment to increase the number of judges on the bench from five to seven.

The High Court judges who have applied for the Supreme Court bench are; Judge Ali Sameer, Judge Abdulla Hameedh, Judge Shuaib Hussain Zakariyya and Judge Mohamed Niyaz.

The High Court judges applied for the open position at a time when the JSC had decided to accept the Presidential nominees, Former High Court Judge Dr. Azmiralda Zahir and Former Civil Court Judge Aisha Shujune.
