President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has forwarded his nominations for the vacant post in the Board of Directors of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) for Parliamentary consideration.
President Solih recently ratified the Second Amendment to the Tax Administration Act. The amendment, signed into law on 12 September 2019, reconstituted the composition of the governing board of MIRA—the President appoints five of the seven-member board, including the Commissioner General of Taxation.
Applications for the vacant position was opened till September 19, by the government.
While the President has sent the nominations for Parliamentary consideration, the public can now submit any complaints regarding the nominees for Commissioner General of Taxation and Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation.
Two names have been nominated for the Commissioner General of Taxation while six names have been nominated for the Deputy Commissioner of General Taxation.
