Maldives Reform Movement (MRM) has received the official certificate of registration with the Elections Commission; the third political party formed by the former President, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
While the MRM has received the registration certificate today, the Elections Commission made the decision to register MRM on 20 November. Speaking at the official ceremony today at the Elections Commission, President of the Commission, Ahmed Shareef advised the MRM to work within the laws and Islamic regulations.
The function to form the party was held on 7 November 2019 where the former President, Maumoon was appointed as the President of the party.
And the party passed the party logo, color and elected a temporary Executive Council. The MRM’s temporary committee consists of 20 members; ten male and ten female members.
Before the formation of MRM, former President Maumoon formed DRP and PPM.
