Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameed, has said that two people have been arrested in connection to the vandalism of Meraki Coffee Roasters on Saturday night.
The glass window of the establishment was broken with a brick around 11:13 p.m. on Saturday night after days of cyber-bullying of a former employee of the establishment on social media.
The Commissioner announced the arrest this morning on Twitter. Elaborating further, the media official of the Maldives Police Service said that two men of the ages 23 and 24 were arrested last night.
Last night we arrested two men in connection to vandalising Meraki Coffee Roasters. Here are some stats on issues we link to ‘extremism in the name of religion’. There is, of course, room to increase competence and improve both institutional & national efforts in tackling these. pic.twitter.com/fWFxIGSG0D
