A sea ambulance transferring a patient from Noonu Atoll Maalhendhoo to Manadhoo has crashed into the seawall.
President of the Maalhendhoo Island Council, Mohamed Shaah Mossa told One Online that the incident took place around 5:20 a.m. this morning.
He said that the incident took place when the sea ambulance traveling with a patient hit the gravel seawall of Maalhendhoo and started taking in water when the impact cracked the vessel.
The vessel was towed to safety with the assistance from the people at the harbor at the time of the collision and the people on board were rescued. However, the vessel capsized in the island harbor after taking in water.
Council President, Shaah said that no one was injured in the incident patient in transfer to was taken to Manadhoo this morning on a speed launch of the Maldives Police Service.
