Former President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has been immediately transferred to police station in Male’ City following the appeal hearing of his five-year prison sentence at the High Court.

Sources have said that the former President was brought in to sign a statement he gave to the police. The information has been confirmed to One Online by President Yameen’s legal team.

Last Thursday, Maldives Police Service summoned the former President for questioning in connection to the MMPRC corruption, embezzlement case and money laundering.
