Kuramathi Maldives resort has been closed down temporarily after a foreigner exhibited symptoms of the COVID-19 Corona Virus.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirmed that after Covid-19 symptoms was found from a foreigner in the island resort, works to transfer the patient to an isolation facility have begun while. the island has been put on a temporary lockdown.

HPA noted that symptoms have been seen among a.couple who were holidaying in the island.

There are so far six confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives. These are four cases from Kuredu Island Resort and two from Sandies Bathala Resort.
