Maldivian returning from Spain being tested for Covid-19 after suspected symptoms

A Maldivian with Covid-19 like symptoms is being tested after returning from Spain.

"As a precautionary measure, a COVID19 symptomatic Maldivian national, who returned from Spain, is being transferred to Farukolhufushi, for monitoring and testing," Health Protection Agency (HPA) said in a tweet.

Travel bans are currently active on eight countries following the rapid spread of Coronavirus. These countries include; China, Italy, Iran, Spain, Bangladesh, parts of Germany, France and South Korea.

Even though the travel ban is active, any Maldivians in said countries are able to return back to the Maldives.

So far there are 13 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives. All of these are foreign nationals.
