Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer has stated that the Maldives will not face a dollar crisis amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

He made the statement while speaking during the press conference held by Finance Ministry today.

Minister Ameer noted that all programs initiated to cut the losses of the Covid-19 Pandemic on the Maldivian economy are being run with foreign funds. Noting that the state does not plan to use the liquidity for PSIP projects, Minister Ameer added that the Maldives will not face a dollar crisis.

He further stressed that if treasury bonds needed to be issued to continue development projects, that too would be done.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih previously noted that none of the PSIP projects will be stopped during the global pandemic.
