Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that the person who tested positive for COVID-19 in Male’ City had not traveled abroad.

A statement issued by the HPA moments ago said that the person who tested positive in Male’ City had consulted at the Flu Clinic in Male’ City near Male’ Hiyaa yesterday and was tested due to symptoms of cold.

Following the confirmation of the test result, the area of the person’s residence had been closed by and the residence had been quarantined according to the HPA statement.

HPA said that the Rapid Response Team is currently conducting contact tracing and the person who was confirmed for the illness has been moved to the Isolation Facility.

The HPA has advised the public to follow their instructions during this time of crisis and the public is advised to stay indoors and not to go out unless absolutely necessary to practice physical distancing.
