Vice President of PPM and MP for Guraidhoo constituency, Ghassan Maumoon, has said that when the Special Commission Investigating Disappearances and Deaths formed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih states that the investigations cannot continue any further, it is not something that the public will be accepting.

After a question regarding extremism came up at the parliament today, the Speaker of the Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed said that he has received a letter from the Commission Investigating Disappearances and Deaths stating that with the report now leaked to the public, their investigation cannot continue.

MP Ghassan posed the question where the path of the justice has come to an end through selective justice.

Speaker of the Parliament said that the parliament has always been asking why charges cannot be brought up with the information in the report when it reached the parliament.

Cases being investigated by the Presidential Commission include the death of MP and religious scholar, Dr. Afrashim Ali and journalist Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla who went missing. While parts of the report were given to the public by the Commission, the report was made available to the public in full by the parliament.
