An employee of the Committee Section at the Maldivian Parliament has tested positive for COVID-19.

Talking to One Online today, the Media Director of the Parliament, Hassan Ziau confirmed that Committee Section employee tested positive and so, a contact tracing and a disinfection of the parliament are underway.

He said that the parliament would resume normal work after disinfection including the meeting to gather public opinion on the amendment to the General Health Protection bill.

However, the JA committee works have been cancelled since a related employee has tested positive.

There have been a previous case of COVID-19 at the Parliament Administration where over 140 employees are working. It was a maintenance staff that tested positive on the previous occasion.
