A three-year-old child has been tested positive for COVID-19 in Raa Atoll Dhuvaafaru.

Deputy Director General of the Health Ministry, Thasleema Usman told One Online that the three-year-old was confirmed on the test before being released from home quarantine.

Last month, three people who tested negative in home quarantine was later tested positive for COVID-19 after their release and the whole island was placed under monitoring.

While cases of COVID-19 have been reported from Dhuvaafaru, cases have been reported from Inguraidhoo and Hulhudhffaaru in the same atoll.

So far, 6,660 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Maldives with 26 fatalities and 2,521 people in treatment.
