Ministry of Education assures that there will not be shortage in teachers in any of the schools in Maldives by the commencement of the new academic year.
Previously, concerned parents have complained regarding the shortage of teachers available following the beginning of every new academic year.
Speaking at a television program on VTV - 'Fas Manzaru' - the Minister of State for Education Dr. Abdullah Rasheed said that the Ministry is rapidly working towards finalizing all the work that needs to completed by the beginning of the new academic year.
An announcement has currently been made to appoint teachers to the schools of Maldives. Dr. Rasheed said that preparing for the new academic year is given the utmost priority at the Ministry. The Minister stated that while most teachers are arriving to Maldives from out of the country, a delay in their arrival is expected and that this is an exceptional situation. He further noted that the expatriate teachers working in Maldives have been serving in schools for a very long time and noted that the percentage of expatriate teachers is less this year.
