The total number of COVID-related deaths in the Maldives have risen to 34 after another local dies of the illness.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that a 90-year-old man being treated in ICU at the Hulhumale’ medical facility passed away at 1:25 a.m. last night.

With this most recent COVID-related death, the total number of related deaths this month has risen to six. So far, 28 locals and six foreigners have passed away in the Maldives due to compilations with COVID-19.

The first reported COVID-19 death in the Maldives was that of a 83-year-old woman who passed away on 29 April 2020.

And now, the total number of cases in the Maldives is currently at 9,724 with 686 people in treatment at isolation facilities and 107 people in hospital. Meanwhile, 8.261 people have recovered from the illness in the Maldives.
