Meeting with the Australian Ambassador to Maldives, President Solih has expressed that he would like to work with Australia on anti-corruption and judicial reform.
The President made the remark on the Australian Ambassador, Mr. Bryce Hutchesson's farewell call on the President.. The Office of the President reported that President Solih expressed concerns over issues of human rights, climate change as well as consolidating the country's democracy.
President Solih further expressed that he would like to work with Australia on anti-corruption regulation, judicial reform and expansion of human resources.
The Australian Ambassador noted the return of Maldives to the Commonwealth and commended the President on his progress in completing first 100-day pledges.
The President's Office said that President Solih highlighted the Ambassador's many services and expressed his gratitude.
The Ambassador also paid a farewell visit to Vice President Faisal Naseem.
According to the President's Office, the VP expressed an interest in the development of the tourism industry of Maldives. The Vice President also noted the contributions of Australia to the education sector and expressed his gratitude. He further expressed his confidence that both nations will work towards ares of concern on a regional and international level.
Ambassador Bryce Hutchesson expressed his gratitude and said that both nations will always have strong ties in working towards progress.
