An elderly person have been found dead on the beach of Haa Dhaalu Vaikaradhoo.

President of the Vaikaradhoo Island Council, Ahmed Naseem told One Online that a 74-year-old local man was discovered dead on the beach north of the island’s harbor by a woman.

Council President Naseem said that the man went on the shallow reef east of the harbor for fishing and was found dead less than an hour later. He said that the man is afflicted with Parkinson’s disease.

He further said that it is believed that the person died after an epileptic a shock however, a team from the Maldives Police Service has arrived on the island to investigate the death.
