Since the Maldives reopened its borders on 15 July 2020 after the peak of COVID-19 pandemic, over 90,000 tourists have visited the Maldives.
Statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism show 90,437 tourists visits between 15 July 2020 and 7 December 2020 and the total number of tourists visiting the Maldives this year has reached 437,284.

Tourism Minister, Abdulla Mausoom has previously said that 12,614 tourists would be visiting the country in the first seven days of this month which is an average of 2042 tourists a day. The Ministry has said that tourist spend an average of 8.5 days in Maldives.
The highest number of tourists have visited from Russia with 19,883 tourists since the borders reopened followed by India with 12,615 tourists.
