COVID-related deaths in the Maldives has claimed to 63 after a person found dead early this morning tested positive for COVID-19 after being taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that a man found motionless was taken to IGMH at 5:30 a.m. and the hospital declared the 67-year-old local was dead at 6 a.m.

Samples taken from the deceased tested positive for COVID-19 according to the HPA and the COVID-death toll has risen to 63.

The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 20,144 with 2,605 active cases and 186 people being treatment in hospitals.
