The newly appointed Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Umar Abdul Razzaq, has said that he will especially work to resolve visa issues faced by Maldivian residents in Sri Lanka.

The Ambassador said this during a courtesy call to the Vice President of Maldives, Faisal Naseem.

During the meeting held at the President’s Office, the Ambassador assured that he will work towards resolving various other issues faced by Maldivians living in Sri Lanka. He also said that he will take every effort to apply his services based on the needs of these Maldivian residents. The Ambassador noted that he will ensure that diplomatic ties are strengthened between Maldives and Sri Lanka. He also said that he will ensure the excellence of services at the Maldivian embassy in Sri Lanka.

The Vice President had offered his congratulations to the Ambassador on his new post during the meeting. The Vice President noted the strong ties between Maldives and Sri Lanka. VP Faisal Naseem also expressed his wishes that the bond will be further fortified under the services of the newly appointed Ambassador.

The VP and Ambassador Umar Abdul Razzaq had conducted talks on the areas that both countries can work together on. As such, discussions were carried out, on joint development in the fields on tourism and businesses.
