A number of samples taken in Faafu Atoll Feeali after. flu started spreading on the island has tested positive for COVID-19.

An official from the Feeali Health Center told One Online that it has been a few days since a flu has been spreading on the island. And so samples were taking for testing and some.of them tested COVID positive.

The official said that some of the results came back close.to 12 a.m. last night and contact tracing is now underway.

While a few people have tested positive for COVID-19 on Feeali, currently it is unclear as to how the virus traveled to the island. And while many islands are currently under lockdown after cases were reported, no island from the Faafu Atoll is currently under lockdown.

However, if a random sample tests positive from an island, those islands are being placed under monitoring. The Feeali Health Center said that their island is currently not under monitoring.
