The total number of COVID-related deaths in the Maldives has reached 100 after a second person has passed away today.

One Online has learned that a 56-year-old local woman passed away this morning at 4:41 a.m. while being treated at the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital.

A total of 27 people has passed away to to complications of COVID-19 this May alone making it the most fatal month thus far.

The total count of 100 COVID-related deaths include 89 locals and 11 foreigners.

Maldives reported its first COVID-related death on 29 April 2020.
