A 100-year-old man being treated for COVID-19 has passed away in the Maldives raising the total number of deaths in the country 187.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the elderly local man passed away at 9:33 a.m. this morning at Dharumavantha Hospital. The is the oldest person to pass away due to COVID in the Maldives.

COVID-19 death toll in the country is currently at 187 with 172 locals and 15 foreigners. Maldives saw the highest deaths on a single day so far on 25 May 2021 with 13 deaths.
