Three people have been arrested as part of the Police efforts against illegal drugs and alcohol after a taxi was searched in Hulhumale' to find a large quantity to alcohol.

Maldives Police Service said that three local men of the ages 24, 26 and 30 were arrested following a report of alcohol being loaded from a dinghy to a taxi at the Hulhumale' Petrol Harbor.

At the special operation executed at 2:10 a.m. last night, 48 cans of alcoholic beverage were found in the taxi, according to the Police.

The case is being investigated further by the Hulhumale' Police Station.
