The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country has risen to 212 after another has passed away at the COVID treatment facility in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo.

The 76-year-old local woman passed away at the COVID Facility in G.Dh. Thinadhoo at 1:55 p.m. this morning making it the second COVID-related death today. An 81-year-old woman passed away this morning at the COVID treatment facility in Gaafu Alifu Vilingili.

So far, 195 locals and 17 foreigners have passed away due to the COVID-19 situation in the Maldives. The highest recorded COVID-related deaths on a single day so far was on 25 May 2021 with 13 deaths.

Maldives reported its first COVID-related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
