Vice President of PPM and MP for Naifaru constituency, Ahmed Shiyam has said that the current government has failed to get justice for the Speaker of the Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed, who was targeted in an IED attack on 6 May.

Speaking at the debate on the amendment to the Land Transportation Act to transfer some of the responsibilities of the Transport Ministry to the Local Councils, MP Shiyam said that government has been investigating the attack in May for two months and th the Parliament has not received any information on the findings.

He said that it was disheartening when President Nasheed last night said that he has been receiving updates on the matter, and called on the government to get justice for the MDP candidate on the 2023 Presidential Election.

MP Shiyam said that even if the current administration fails to get justice for Nasheed, the government formed by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on 2023 will be get justice for the former President.
