President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today appointed Mohamed Shihab as the new State Minister for Gender, Family and Social Services, and Hussain Ismail as the Minister of State for Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment.
Mohamed Shihab attained his Educational Planning and Administration Diploma from the Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi, India.
Mohamed Shihab is currently serving as a board member at the Family Protection Authority and as a Child’s Rights Ambassador at the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Damas Private Limited. He had also previously filled the post of Deputy Director at the Ministry of Education and Assistant Principal at Majeedhiyya School.
Hussain Ismail holds a Diploma in Marketing and Tourism Development Planning from Belgium. He has previously served as the Deputy Minister of Human Resources, Youth and Sports. Currently, he is the Chairman of Heat Health and Fitness and the President of Laamu Fonadhoo constituency.
