MVR 600 million has been included in the proposed state budget for 2022.

As per the state budget, about 4,000 housing units are to be constructed by the government through the 'Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation'. MVR 449 million has been allocated to new housing projects to be developed under the national social housing project as well as the units being developed under Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation.

Additional funding required for the projects will be sourced through the Saudi Fund according to the budget. MVR 57 million is proposed to be spent on affordable housing being developed through the Saudi Fund.

In addition to this, MVR 24 million has been allocated for the ongoing 100 housing units development in M. Kolhufushi, B. Thulhaadhoo, Lh. Naifaru as well as Th. Thimarafushi. MVR 7.9 million has also been budgeted to develop 105 units in HDh. Kulhudhuffushi.

MVR 2.4 billion has been proposed as state expenditure in the budget, including these projects and ongoing ones.
