Riyaz: MMPRC corruption was orchestrated by the government

Minority Leader at Parliament and MP of Kinbidhoo constituency, Abdulla Riyaz, has said that he believes that the MMPRC corruption was a crime orchestrated by the government at the time.

MP Riyaz said this at VTV’s “Fas Manzaru” program last night. He added that the corruption was not only propagated through MMPRC.

The Minority Leader at Parliament said that the corruption would not have taken place if the Financial Intelligence Unit at Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) was fully functioning and responsible.

RIyaz reiterated that such a massive act of corruption would not have been possible if the government institutions had complied with regulations.
