British Actress Olivia Colman won the Oscar for Best Actress during last night’s awards.  Olivia won the category with a popular movie at the Oscars - “The Favourite”.

The actress who gained her popularity through television was immensely shocked to have found out she had won an Oscar. Olivia was nonetheless charming and humorous in her acceptance speech. She expressed that although the moment was quite stressful, it was “hilarious” and said, “I've got an Oscar!”.

This would be the first Oscar for the role of Best Actress awarded to a British actress since Kate Winslet won in 2009.

Rami Malek took the Best Actor Oscar with “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Rami had also taken home the award in that category at both the Emmy Awards and the BAFTAs this year with the movie.

“Green Book” won the Oscar for the Best Picture at the awards event held at Los Angeles this year. The film also won in three other categories.

While “Bohemian Rhapsody” took home four awards, “Roma” and “Black Panther” won in three different categories each.
