Speaker of the Parliament and the Leader of the Jumhoory Party (JP), Qasim Ibrahim, has indirectly criticized the the Tourism Minister, Ali Waheed.

The Qasim's indirect words came following the Tourism Minister's words at the campaign launch of parliament hopeful for Hulhumale' constituency, the Deputy Chairperson of MDP, Ali Niyaz.

At the event, Tourism Minister Waheed said that if his sincere efforts to elect President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to power, he does not want to be in JP. Ali Waheed has also expressed his displeasure when JP decided to support PPM candidates.

Qasim requested support from the JP council to elect all the candidates supported by the party and said that no matter which position of office a JP member is in, they have received that position due to the party and so should fulfill their duties responsibly as their duty to the party.
