The second order obtained by Maldives Police Service (MPS) to freeze former President Abdulla Yameen’s accounts have also been nullified, releasing all and any of his accounts effectively.

The first order to freeze about MVR 100 million in President Yameen’s account expired by April 12, hence police had sought out a second order. The two of those orders have since been nullified.

Two accounts with Bank of Maldives and Maldives Islamic Bank were frozen over the court order.
