Latest statistics reveal that the state revenue through MIRA during the month of March totaled to MVR 1.51 billion.

Statistics reveal that the state revenue in March 2019 was 2.1% lower than the amount in March 2018. Furthermore, this amount is 15.1% lower than the projected state revenue for the month of March.

According to MIRA, the decrease in state revenue was due to unpaid GST taxes and Tourism Land Rents. Goods and Services Tax (GST) was the biggest contributor to the state revenue in March, bringing in a total of MVR 732.1 million.

Second biggest contribution came from Tourism Land Rent, which is MVR 355.8 million while over MVR 87 million was collected as BPT during the period.
