A Sri Lankan official has said that some of the attacks in the string of explosions yesterday are believed to be suicide bombings.

Some media outlets have reported that according to officials, 24 arrests have been so far in connection to explosions but the perpetrators of the attacks have not been confirmed.

While more arrests could be made regarding the situation, Sri Lankan authorities have not released any information of the people in custody.

Over 200 people killed in the attacks yesterday, the government declared an indefinite nation-wide curfew.

The Maldivian Embassy in Colombo has advised all Maldivians in the country to stay at home. They have also advised to keep the tickets and passport at hand when flying from Sri Lanka to Maldives.

With elevated security level at the Bandaranaike International Airport, the airport has requested that passengers arrive at least four hours before their flight.
