Hulhumale experienced an island wide blackout on Wednesday night.

The power outage happened around 10:00pm on Wednesday night.

Speaking to One Online, an official from STELCO confirmed that the island was experiencing a blackout, and noted that it was due to a technical fault. Works were underway to solve the issue and provide power back to the island at the soonest.

However, no additional details of the technical fault were given.
