President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that he wants to pass a legislation to protect the rights of children.

In his Children’s Day address, President Solih said that there are things that need to be structured better to improve the lives of the children in the country. He said that it is very important to assure that every child born to a Maldivian family gets the love and care of the family from birth.

The President said that parents and guardians need to show the right path to children from children to make sure they are responsible and accustomed to their civil responsibilities.

President Solih said that every age appropriate freedom given to children should come with responsibilities.

The President said that it is also the duty of the parents to ensure that the freedoms given to children are being used for the best.
