High Court has overruled the sentence against the former Vice President, Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor, following the explosion on board the Presidential Launch and ordered to restart the investigation.

The High Court ruling said that Adeeb would stay in jail for 15 days and during that time, the Prosecutor General has file suit on decision on the detention.

The Court said that the Supreme Court ruling on 1 February 2018 was not fully overruled and that Supreme Court ruled to release those involved to be investigated again.

Adeeb was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted for his involvement in the explosion on board the Presidential Launch. It is one of the largest sentences against the former Vice President.
