Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has launched a new digital platform, named the "Harbour Portal", to modernise and streamline the management of sea vessels operating within Velana International Airport (VIA).

MACL said the portal will simplify vessel registration and permit applications through a single platform while improving communication between vessel owners and operators. The system will also enable better monitoring of daily harbour operations and maintain records of all vessels using the airport harbour.

The portal will be introduced in phases. The first phase focuses on vessel registration and onboarding operators to the system. Information sessions have already been held for vessel owners, and MACL teams are directly assisting with registrations.

MACL said the registration phase will continue until the end of next month. Once fully implemented, all vessels using the airport harbour will be required to register on the portal and obtain the necessary permits.
