A fire has broken out and is currently burning in a building in Malé.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has just stated that the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service is responding to a fire that broke out in a building near Jaya Cushion in the Maafannu district.

According to the MNDF, the fire broke out in a warehouse belonging to the Jaya company. The warehouse is used to store items such as cushions and upholstery materials.

The Maldives Police Service also stated just now that officers are active on the scene following reports of a fire incident in a building located on Muniyaa Magu. They noted that further updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
