People allocated plots in Gulhifalhu are expected to receive their land by the end of this week, Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib has said.
Responding to a question in Parliament on Monday, the minister said the Government is working to complete the handover of all plots allocated in Gulhifalhu this week through a digital system that will allow recipients to view the exact location of their plots before taking possession.
He said the current Administration remains committed to completing housing projects initiated by previous governments despite facing various challenges.
Minister Dr Muththalib also revealed that the handover of plots in the Hulhumalé Phase III housing project has been completed.
In addition, he said work to reclaim a further 50 hectares of land in Giraavaru is set to resume this month after delays caused by the Middle East conflict. The reclaimed land will also be allocated to eligible recipients once the project is completed.
